MnSCU and University of Minnesota Distance Learning Initiative
Project Charge
Each steering committee, co-chaired by a representative of each system,
is charged with the following:
- Develop courses and programs, as specifically described below, for distance
learning delivery by providing grants to faculty and by purchasing already
developed courseware.
- Begin the delivery of developed or purchased courseware during FY97 and/or
FY98.
- Identify the students which the pilot project is intended to serve and
choose the most appropriate mix of distance delivery technology for these
students and the subject area.
- Determine the resources which will be required to accomplish their tasks and
prepare a budget for that purpose by October 31.
- Suggest how all campuses with academic programs in each subject area should
integrate the courses into their curricula.
- Oversee and monitor the progress of course development.
- Prepare a presentation and appear before appropriate committees of the 1997
legislature reporting on the progress of the project.
