Presenting Mathematical Concepts on the World Wide Web
CGI Scripts with Perl
Perl is a computer language. It is very good for CGI scripts for
several reasons.
- Perl is freely available on almost any computer system.
- Perl is very forgiving and it easy to get a program going quickly.
- Perl interacts well with the rest of the operating system.
It also has a few drawbacks.
- Since it is so forgiving and unstructured,
it is easy to write unintelligible programs.
- Since it is interpreted,
it is slower than a compiled language.
