INTRODUCTION TO KALEIDOTILE SOFTWARE

ACTIVITY SHEET

Getting Used to the Controls

When you get tired of aimlessly playing, try to discover what is happening with the program. First you need to get all of the settings ready:

In the
'Symmetry Group' window, select (2, 3, 4) In the 'What to Draw' window, 'edges' and 'flat' should be pushed in.
Everything else is pushed out.

Your Symmetry Group and What to Draw windows should look like they do here. The buttons labeled (2, 3, 4), edges, and flat should be 'pushed in.' All other buttons should be 'out'.

You can see only the edges of the polyhedron, including 'hidden' edges in the back.

The base
point is dragged to the lower right corner.
In the Basepoint window, drag the base point to the lower right vertex dot as shown to the right.

The base
point is dragged to the lower left corner.
Now drag the base point to the lower left vertex dot as shown.
