INTRODUCTION TO KALEIDOTILE SOFTWARE
ACTIVITY SHEET
Getting Used to the Controls
When you get tired of aimlessly playing, try to discover what is
happening with the program. First you need to get all of the settings
ready:
Your Symmetry Group and What to Draw windows should look
like they do here. The buttons labeled (2, 3, 4), edges,
and flat should be 'pushed in.' All other buttons should be 'out'.
You can see only the edges of the polyhedron, including 'hidden'
edges in the back.
In the Basepoint window, drag the base point to the lower right
vertex dot as shown to the right.
- Make sketches of two different positions of the polyhedron. Draw
the 'hidden' edges as dotted lines.
- Write the name of the polyhedron next to your drawings.
Now drag the base point to the lower left vertex dot as shown.
- Make sketches of two different positions of this polyhedron.
- Write the name of the polyhedron next to your drawings.
