General Education Sites
There are many sites on the Web of interest to educators in all disciplines. To make an exhaustive list would futile and unweildy. Sites can be changed, added, or deleted frequently. The list below will give you a taste of what is available in general education topics.
- is a site full of geographical information on cities around the world. With the click of a mouse, you view a Paris street map right down to individual blocks. Other options include trip route planning. This is a description of the routes and mileage required to get from PointA to Point B. Interactive atlas capability further enhances this site.
- is a site maintained by the National Education Association. There are a variety of services and information available from NEA. Interested in finding a school in Germany with which to communicate? You can locate homepages for schools around the world! There are also sites with classroom help for teachers, discussion areas for problem-solving, technology updates, etc.
- includes pages devoted to union information, educational research, consumer affairs, references to selected web sites AFT thought of interest to educators, and more.
- provides regional and national information about public radio services, such as music reviews, news and weather programming, member services. etc.
- and the list continues. Some of these news services require a subscription fee to access, but many are free.
- gives information similar to MPR, but more. If your interest is science, check out Science Friday Kids Connection.
