Presenting Mathematical Concepts on the World Wide Web
Think Visually: Screen vs. Page Design
Think Visually: Your Assignment
Your task, after reading the material in this section, is to send a message to the course discussion list in which you specify the URLs of two pages you have found somewhere (anywhere) on the Web:
- One should be a particularly good example of web-based design. You should explain, briefly, what is good about it. It is best if you can discuss this page specifically in terms of how it relates to the audience for this workshop.
- One should be an example of ineffective web-based design. You should, at a minimum, explain what you would do to improve it. Ideally, your post will include a URL for an actual demonstration of how you were able to implement your suggestions. (Note: The original page need not be horrible, just something that could bear some improvement. It may be an early attempt of your own, that you later figured out how to improve.)
