Who may claim copyrights?
- the author*, or
- a person or entity to whom the author has transferred one or more rights.
* These notes will not address the distinctions among works created by:
- a single author,
- employees or free lancers under work-for-hire or transfer agreements,
- multiple authors,
- citizens or entities of one or more countries,
- etc.
Readers of these notes should be aware that such distinctions do matter.
