Solution #31: How Many Children Were You?
The number of my sisters must be a multiple of 3 and a multiple of 2.
It must therefore be a multiple of 6.
Total number of children: [(multiple of 6) x (1 + 1/2)] + 1.
Since this number must be less than 19, the only possible solution for
the multiple of 6 is 6 exactly. I therefore have 6 sisters and 3 brothers.
We are 10 children in all.
