- Monotonic
- A sequence is monotonic if it is strictly increasing or decreasing.
For example, the sequence [2,4,6,8,10,...] is monotonically
increasing whereas the sequence [2,4,-2,6,-8,...] is not monotonic.
A function of one variable is monotonic if its derivative is never zero.
