Portability

  1. Anybody with a web browser should be able to view the documents being presented.

This rules out writing a plug-in.

This will be a significant advantage over xdvi if it can be made to work. At the moment, the display software breaks under many Windows and Macintosh Java environments.

  2. Any preprocessing software should also be portable.

The current implementation as a combination of shell scripts and a Java application is portable to many unix environments.
