In a world where batteries are often too expensive ...
There has to be something going on here ... usually the lowest common denominator leads to as crude mediocrity, but on the Internet (and perhaps in the PC world) we have a mediocrity marked by excess.
As an example of what the 'glossy magazine' paradigm is costing us (and no, cost is not always measured immediately in dollars), think of how often you've found just the right book by walking through the stacks ... now think about the way we use search engines. Browsing page after page after page is not the same as 'walking through the stacks'; remember how immediate the books are, just a finger-tip away, while you are in those aisles.
I argue for a renovation of the gopher paradigm, and an optimization of DOSLynx (and if someone knows something about project 'Wilco', please mail-me!.
if this html turns out I will be a happy puppy!
