Yes, the main difference between binary extensions
and `helper apps' is embeddability. But in a larger
sense the topic here is getting a richer inter-applet
API for binary applets.
I certainly agree with you that non-portability is a
strong moral argument against binary extensions.
Unfortunately, it's not necessarily a good
marketing argument against them. We'll have to see.
