This conference seeks to provide an opportunity for people with an interest in technological, editorial and economic issues surrounding the electronic communication of mathematics to exchange views with one another and with leaders in these areas.

Advances in communication technology are catalyzing a fundamental change in the way in which information is stored and communicated, both in the scientific community and in society at large. Though electronic communication has long been an important tool both for scientific researchers and in the classroom, the use of electronic communication for mainstream academic publishing is only now becoming widespread. The economic and editorial ramifications for the mathematics community offer both exciting opportunities and substantial challenges.
