This chapter gives a brief description of the package and its purposes, the algorithms and fundamentals of the package are immediately explained, we then describe the current implementation, including naming conventions, data types, file formats, functions and the suggested procedures to add new data types and classes; finally a description of the programs included with Unifpack , their purpose and usage is discussed.
