Tamara Munzner

Former Senior Technical Staff, The Geometry Center

I've left! New home page

I'm no longer working at the Geometry Center. I'm now in the PhD program in the Stanford Computer Science Department.

Bio Blurb

Tamara Munzner is part of the senior technical staff. She received a B.S. in computer science from Stanford in 1991. She is one of the authors of Geomview, the Center's 3D visualization system. She was one of the directors and animators of Outside In, the Center's recent 22-minute computer generated animation about turning a sphere inside out. She is also one of the authors of the Triangle Tiling exhibit developed in collaboration between the Geometry Center and the Science Museum of Minnesota. At Siggraph 94 the exhibit was on display at The Edge and Outside In was shown at the Electronic Theater. Recently, she has been working on WebOOGL, an integration of Geomview into the World Wide Web by extending the OOGL 3D scene language to include URL hyperlinks. Here's an abstract and slides for her talk during a panel session on Visualization and the Web at the second WWW conference. Her areas of interest include interactive 3D graphics and user interfaces.

More late-breaking bio news: she was one of the directors and animators of "The Shape of Space", to appear at SIGGRAPH 95. She'll be lecturing at the Visualizing Mathematics course and speaking at the panel on 3D Graphics through the Internet.
